About this race

The Los Angeles Marathon lives up to its Hollywood billing with a spectacular point-to-point route through America's entertainment capital. Starting at Dodger Stadium and ending at the Santa Monica pier, runners pass through iconic LA neighbourhoods: Chinatown, Echo Park, Hollywood Boulevard with its Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Century City, and finally the beaches of Santa Monica. The 350m of elevation comes in steady mid-course climbs through Beverly Hills and West LA — not brutal, but enough to punish under-trained runners at mile 20. March temperatures are moderate at 15–20°C but warming can be an issue. Crowd support varies — Hollywood and Beverly Hills sections are excellent; some middle sections are thin. The finish on the pier with Pacific views is one of the most photogenic in American marathoning.
