Ottawa's marathon coincides with the Canadian Tulip Festival — millions of tulips in bloom along the course make this one of North America's most visually striking spring races. The near-flat course runs along the Ottawa River Parkway, through the leafy Gatineau Hills on the Quebec side, and past Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal. With 95m of elevation and May conditions of 10–18°C, this is a genuine PB course. Ottawa's organisation is exceptional — the capital city's resources mean meticulous race management, reliable pacers, and a polished expo. The bilingual course reflects Canada's character: cheering crowds mix English and French encouragement as runners pass through both Ontario and Quebec.
