PB potential
Excellent PB course — flat, fast, and well-paced
Beginner friendly
Suitable for beginners with solid training
Dubai's January marathon is one of the world's richest races by prize money and offers conditions that most winter marathoners can only dream about. The flat course traces Jumeirah Beach Road, past the Palm Jumeirah, and through the financial district — against a backdrop of architectural spectacle. January temperatures are the coolest Dubai gets (around 18–22°C at race start, dropping from a 6am gun), meaning conditions are warm by European standards but manageable if you adjust expectations. The humidity is low in January, which helps significantly. The event attracts a diverse field from 100+ countries. Aid stations are generously spaced and well-stocked. A race that rewards solid heat training and makes for an outstanding winter destination break.
