About this race

The Santiago Marathon is Chile's premier road race and one of South America's most scenic. The course runs through Parque O'Higgins, Providencia's tree-lined avenues, Las Condes, and Vitacura's affluent residential streets — with the Andean cordillera visible throughout, snow-capped throughout the Southern hemisphere winter. June conditions of 6–14°C are excellent for racing — comfortably cool and rarely wet. At 520m altitude, the air is thin enough to add 30–60 seconds per km for sea-level runners but not severely so. Organisation has improved significantly in recent years and the field draws strong club runners from across Chile and Argentina.
