The Walt Disney World Marathon is the most beginner-friendly large marathon in the United States. The course runs through Magic Kingdom (past Cinderella Castle at dawn), EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom — with costumed Disney characters stationed every mile and backstage park access no day guest ever sees. The flat Florida course has virtually no elevation and a generous 7-hour cutoff, making it ideal for first-timers who want an unforgettable experience over a fast time. January conditions of 14–21°C are warm but manageable. The RunDisney running community is enormous and supportive; elaborate costumes are actively encouraged.
