About this race

Paris is one of the most visually spectacular marathons in the world. The course begins at the Arc de Triomphe on Champs-Élysées, runs through the Marais, past Notre-Dame, along the Seine, and winds through both Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes, finishing on Avenue Foch. The elevation profile has genuine character — not relentlessly flat, with some rolling segments through the parks that test mid-race legs. The field is around 50,000 strong, making it one of Europe's largest. April weather is typically mild but can be unpredictable. The crowd thins in the forested sections, but the urban stretches are lined with passionate Parisian spectators. An open entry format with quick registration makes it more accessible than the World Majors.

Who this race suits

A scenic big-city marathon that suits PB attempts and confident first-timers, with far easier open entry than the majors.

Mostly flat and fast, though cobbled sections and river tunnels can disrupt rhythm and GPS. Cool April conditions help.
