About this race

Victoria, British Columbia is one of Canada's most beautiful cities and its marathon lives up to the setting. The course runs along Dallas Road's oceanfront — with the Strait of Juan de Fuca on one side and the Rockies visible on the horizon on clear days — through Oak Bay, Cadboro Bay, and the University of Victoria campus, before finishing in the city centre near the Inner Harbour. The 115m of elevation is spread across gentle coastal undulation. October conditions are ideal — 10–16°C with Pacific moisture keeping temperatures mild. Victoria's English heritage — afternoon tea, double-decker buses, flower-basket lamp posts — gives the race a unique character. Crowd support is warm, the post-race experience in the Inner Harbour area is excellent, and the city is an outstanding marathon travel destination.
